Glastonbury Campervan Rental

By Steve MacDonald

Camper van hire at Glastonbury Festival has become a really popular and cool way to enjoy the festival. The Festival is now more geared up than ever to provide facilities for motorhomes and motorhomes, but there are some important points you should note regardless of whether you bring your own vehicle or take advantage of one the companies that offer Glastonbury camper van hire.

To use the allocated fields for campervans and caravans, you will need a special ticket. These are available for an additional fee (it was 75 in 2009), and they can be purchased at the same time as your Glastonbury Festival ticket. Although only one is required for each vehicle, every person staying in the campervan does need a weekend Glastonbury Festival ticket, you will not be allowed in if you haven't.

Campervans must have 'suitable fitted facilities', this means the campervan must have purpose-built fitted sleeping facilities and either fitted cooking or washing facilities. Any converted vehicles must clearly be live-in vehicles. This does not mean simply a van with a piece of foam cut to size for a bed, and a bucket for washing! A team of campsite staff and security staff will check that campervans and caravans coming into these fields have bona fide living accommodation. No other vehicles will be let onto these fields under any circumstances - not even late replacement vehicles in the case of a breakdown. If your vehicle is considered unsuitable for the campervan fields which includes unconverted vans, will not be allowed entry and will be sent to one of the festival car parks - and security patrols will not permit sleeping in any vehicles in these car parks.

Facilities provided in the motorhome and caravan fields are water, waste-water containers, toilets, and a food trader open 24 hours a day. The fields are surrounded by steel shield fencing and patrolled by security staff. No electricity is provided for field users.

Glastonbury Festival does not rent caravans to ticket holders, or have any arrangements with contractors to rent caravans. You can of course hire a camper van and bring it to the Festival, provided you have purchased a weekend Glastonbury Festival ticket and a camper van ticket.

The only access to the motorhome and caravan fields is via the Blue Route, along from the A37. A windscreen sticker will be sent to you with your motorhome ticket, which will permit access to the Pylle Road via the Blue Route, and allow you to park in the fields. You will be allowed access from 8am on the Wednesday before the festival. To enable traffic to exit the site, Blue Route becomes one-way outbound from 2pm on Sunday afternoon until 6pm on Monday evening. As a result, no vehicles can access the motorhome and caravan fields during this time. Do not leave the motorhome and caravan fields in your vehicle and expect to get back to the fields during these times, or arrange for others to pick up during this period, as entry will be refused.

For rental campervans there is a system with the contractors delivering the campervans so that they can use the hire document/delivery note to bring the vehicle on to the Festival site. Your campervan hire company will have more details of this.

The Fire Officer will not allow ticket-holders to camp beside motorhomes or cars due to the risk of contiguous fire, but it is permitted to camp behind them. You can bring a Winnebago or extra large RV however, for all vehicles longer than 7 meters it will be necessary to purchase two touring caravan/camper van tickets, to cover the extra space required.

You can use an awning, but only manufacturers awnings are acceptable. The Fire Service does not permit people to sleep under these awnings because of the risk of contiguous fire between vehicles.

Stewards will be on hand in the campervan fields to advise on siting vehicles. It is not possible to reserve a specific area as space is allocated on a first come first served basis.

There are some things that youjust cannot bring: No generators are allowed on site. Also, glass is not permitted anywhere on festival land. The security staff will also check for any other items not permitted on site, as specified in the terms and conditions on weekend tickets. Security staff will confiscate any such items and may refuse entry to the site. The decision of the security team will be final. - 18424

A Small Collection Of Quality Film Outlines To Check Out

By Isabelle Marshall

For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. These days you can stay at home and get movies from a movie download site. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site. Below is a small sample.

Hills Have Eyes Part 2: Lame continuation has a group of motocross fanatics stranded in the desert, preyed upon by a primitive family. This is loaded with flashback footage from the 1977 film, containing one ludicrously alleging to be a memory by a dog. Cast includes Michael Berryman, John Laughin, Tamara Stafford, Kevin Blair, and John Bloom. (88 minutes, 1985)

The All-American Boy: Jumbled drama in reference to Olympic optimistic Voight's effort to be a successful boxer; striking locations of northern California, but that's all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes, 1989)

Night of the Blood Monster: Lee is fine as Magistrate Jeffrey's who is a vicious judge presiding over "Bloody Assizes" after the Monmouth Revolt opposing Baron James II. The film itself is monotonous and grisly. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Maria Schell, Leo Genn, Maria Rohm, and Margaret Lee. (84 minutes, 1970)

Far and Away: A scrappy Irish occupant farmer hooks up, in doubtful style, with the comparably feisty daughter of a prosperous landowner, and together they travel to America to seek their final fate in the 1893 Oklahoma land rush. Superlative platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both attractive and involving; the problem is a drastic absence of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, Cohn Meaney, and Rance Howard. (140 minutes, 1992)

The Priests Wife: Hardly amusing blend of drama and humor with Loren as a disenchanted singer who imagines she could persuade pastor Mastroianni to acquire discharge from his promise of celibacy and wed her. Weightier addressing of this topic might be heard on talk shows. Cast includes Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Venantino Venantini, Jacques Stany, Pippo Starnazza, and Augusto Mastrantoni. (106 minutes, 1971)

Dream Warriors: When agitated kids in a psychiatric clinic find they are being visited in their dreams by the giggling, murderous figure of Freddy Krueger, Nancy Langenkamp, the survivor of the first film and now a psychiatrist, helps another physician and the terrified adolescents battle Freddy. Well written and imaginatively prompted, this is the best of the Elm Road films. Cast includes Heather Langenkamp, Patricia Arquette, Larry Fishburne, Priscilla Arrow, Brooke Bundy, Dick Cavett, and Zsa Zsa Gabor. (78 minutes, 1987)

Juno: Juno is a smart young girl facing a huge dilemma. She is pregnant. Wanting the best for the child she strives to find a fitting set of parents for her baby. With the support of loving parents, Juno tries to deal with coming of age before her time.

Starsky and Hutch: Starsky and Hutch are detectives in the Bay City police department. These two are undercover cops back in the 70's. Somehow these two total opposites combine to make a great detective team.

8 Percent Women: While a triumphant businessman is widowed, his child tries to help him through his misery by taking him on a sensual odyssey. The females range from a prior nun Collette to a horsewoman (Plummer) who wears a weird see through harness. Copious nudity couldn't keep this from being a massive bore. Cast includes John Sitting, Matthew Delamere, Vivian Wu, Shizuka lnoh, Barbara Sarafian, Manna Fujiwara, and Polly Stroller. (121 minutes, 1999)

As Tracy sits in detention, she meets a black boy named Seaweed who offers to teach her some dance moves, Tracy picks him up on the offer and is taught some amazing moves. Tracy also finds out that there is a dance scheduled, which she attends with Seaweed. While attending, Tracy shows off some of the amazing moves that she has learned, but it is not just those from her school who are watching, but the owner of the T.V. show that is featuring the big dance contest, the owner happens to catch Tracy's moves and is impressed, he then invites her to be on the show. Another character on the show is Amber a snobby cruel girl, who also happens to be in love with Link, finds out about Tracy's fortune, and decides to make Tracy's life a living hell, full of harassment.

As we continue with the play, Tracy is invited to record shop that Seaweed's mother owns, all during the play, Tracy continues to grow close to Seaweed, and is upset to find out that the show that she is about to go on, only allows black people to attend their shows once a month, on "Negro Day" because of this Tracy finds herself fighting for black rights, and helping her best friend, the ending of Hairspray the musical is sure to please, but you will have to attend to find out.
