Basically, it is the study of how to become who you want and achieve the things you want to achieve. Learning different methods, I have learned how to set goals, achieve them and be happy with my successes. The exact same principles apply to the guitar. You must have a goal, lay out a plan to achieve the goal, work hard, and finally achieve it.

We have all done this in our lives, whether it was working hard to get good grades in school, or save up and buy your first guitar, whatever, you have done it, unintentionally. Once you learn how we use this method for playing fast, apply it to all your guitar skills you want to improve, like strumming, scales, etc.

Another way to improvise on the piano is to play a game I call "Finish the Melody." To do this, play one note. Then, let go of that note and play it again, followed by another note. Then let go again and play those two notes adding another note. Continue in this fashion until you can not remember all of your melody. Then start a new one. Maybe this melody starts on a new note. If you are a good singer, singing helps develop your melodies. So, sing.

Once you can do it at a slow pace, just keep doing it, until you are totally sick of it, just keep doing it, we are training our muscles the exact motions at a slow vibration level. Once our body adapts to this speed, we can then increase the BPM on our metronome a few clicks, and again do it perfectly for a long time, like 5 minutes. Set your goal to get up to 120BMP. I bet you within a short time, maybe 20-30 minutes you can be there, depending on your skill level.

Now, once you have mastered this simple lick and gone from slow to fast, from 0 to hero, grab some new riffs and do the exact same thing. Set a really slow starting rate, then increase it slowly, set a super high goal, and don't stop till you get there. Some goals may be too challenging, but don't be discouraged, as Zig Ziglar says: "If you can believe it, you can achieve it".

Improvising is the easiest way to play the piano and there are a number of ways to approach it.
