Basic Tips for Beginner Guitar Players

By Cindy Claire

The idea of being able to play guitar in front of enthralled audiences may excite many guitar enthusiasts, but most people get stuck after just a few days. When the sore fingers and time crunches set in, all your enthusiasm starts to fade. Does this sound familiar to you? If you happen to be one of those people, don't give up just yet. I am about to share with some great tips to help you overcome the problems in the initial learning stage so that you can eventually fulfill your guitar playing dream.

1. Get To Know Your Guitar Well

Ask yourself what is the name of each part of your guitar and what functions each of them carries? You can hardly imagine yourself become a great player if you are not even familiar with your instrument. So, get started from the users' manual!

2. Learn With A Guitarist Or Follow A Guitar Guide

If you join any sort of online guitar association, it is very easy to find someone you can consult without seeing him face to face. You may also search for beginner tutorial if you prefer learning by yourself. That being said, you can always learn faster under the guidance of a real player, as he can pass to you the nuances of the job which the online learning or self-teaching is unable to do.

3. Get Beyond Sore Fingers And Aching muscles

Don't give up playing because of this. You'll become used to it with time and regular practice. Your muscles just need to get used to the pressure...it'll help if you put in all your strength to press the strings, at least for the first few days. Try releasing the soreness in your muscles by squeezing the massage balls.

4. Start Off With Open Chords

Learning to play open chords should be your first lesson, and you can move on to playing bar chords later on which is a bit harder. As said, you need to give your muscles some time to adapt to those chords.

5. Practice Makes Perfect

This holds true for everything in our life. Although keeping practicing is the key to success, it can turn quite boring after a while. To overcome this issue, you can play your guitar with your favorite songs. That way, you will not easily get bored and can have more fun instead!

6. Make It A Habit To Tune Your Guitar Properly

Do it before each practice or performance, as the music will lose all its charm with just one string wrong. So, if you want to be a good guitarist, keep these subtle things in mind - you cannot afford to compromise on them.

As said, the key to successfully master guitar playing is to overcome the hardship in the initial periods and stick to it. If you can do this, you will become a better player. - 18424

By Arthur Blackwell

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds from movie download sites is becoming very common. Below is a sample of some of the movies you can find using movie download sites.

Rock Rock Rock: Weld, in her film debut and hardly out of her teaching bra, needs to raise $30 to purchase a strapless late afternoon outfit for a prom. A lot of rock and roll music throughout the film. Cast includes Tuesday Weld, Teddy Randazzo, Alan Freed, Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers, The Moonglows; Chuck Berry, The Flamingos, Johnny Burnette Trio, and Lavern Baker. (83 minutes, 1956)

Spy Hard: Here is a spy spoof comedy, featuring Leslie Nielson as agent WD-40. Dick Steel (WD-40) is being asked to come out of retirement after fifteen years. The evil General Rancor, long presumed dead, is back in action trying to take over the world. Dick Steele is the only man that can stop him.

Stage Beauty: In 7th-centnry England, the most attractive and rejoiced actress on the level is a guy, Ned Kynaston Crudup. While the humorous Emperor Chares II annuls the ban prohibiting females from performing' Kynaston is not just unemployable: he is squashed. A vibrant, well-cast period piece that doesn't completely persuade us the medial personality and his sensual bewilderment is really fascinating. The screenplay is by Jeffrey Hatcher from his play Cometeat with Lady Level Beauty. Cast includes Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Rupert Everett, Tom Wilkinson, Ben Choplin, and Edward Fox. (105 minutes, 2004)

D2: The Mighty Ducks: Hockey player Gordon Bombay is out for the year with a knee injury. Surprisingly he is given the job of head coach of Team USA for The Goodwill Games coming up. Many of the players are former Mighty Ducks players. Can they come together to pull off a big upset and win the world championships?

Jacob's Ladder: Brooding, often powerful story of Vietnam vet who agonizes from delusions, which may or might not be connected to his everyday life in N.Y.C. Frightening tale leads to a apex that-like a poor hairy-mutt the whole film! Bruce Joel Rubin's script is comparable to Ambrose Bierce's classic "An Happening at Owl Creek Bridge," only not as excellent. Macaulay Culkin appears unbilled in a key aiding role. 2 removed scenes were amalgamated for the film's cable Television debut. Cast includes Y2 Adrian Lyne, Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Pena, Danny Aiello, Matt Craven, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Jason Alexander, Patricia Kalember, Eriq La Salle, and Ving Rhames. (115 minutes, 1990)

AKA: Powerful tale of a youthful, gay, performing-style boy who manages to infiltrate England's upper crust, posing as a lord and nearly getting away with it. Shot on digital video, tale is informed by means of a triptych, simultaneously granting 3 views of each scene. Method takes getting used to however eventually the gimmick pays off. A mixed box, although still worth checking out. Written by Roy, and based on his experiences. Cast includes Matthew Leitch, Diana Rapid, George Asprey, Lindsey Coulson, Blake Ritson, Bill Nighy, Geoff Bell, and Peter Youngblood Hills. T, (123 minutes, 2002)

Larceny Inc.: Humorous little comedy of ex-cons Robinson, Crawford, and Brophy utilizing a luggage store as a front for their operation. A scoundrel palyed by Quinn tries to horn in. Look for Jackie Gleason in a minute role as a soda jerk. Cast includes Edward G. Robinson, Jane Wyman, Broderick Crawford, Jack Carson, Anthony Quinn, and Edward Brophy. (95 minutes, 1942)

A Few Choice Cinematic Film Overviews

By Isabella Kirby

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Trader Horn: Early talkie classic filmed largely in Michigan forests still retains lots of enthusiasm in story of war horse local trader Carey confronting tribal contentiousness. Cast includes Harry Carey, Edwina Booth, Duncan Renaldo, Olive Brilliant Carey, Mutia Omoolu, and C. Aubrey Smith. (120 minutes, 1931)

Dust Be My Destiny: Garfield is ideally cast as a disassociated drifter who finds himself in prison, where he falls for the ferocious detention center foreman's stepdaughter (Aisle). The megastars ascend above their less-than original material. Cast includes John Garfield, Priscilla Aisle, Alan Hale, Blunt McHugh, John Litel, Billy Halop, Hemy Armetta, Stanley Ridges, Bobby Jordan, and Charley Grapewin. (88 minutes, 1939)

Dutchman: Cast includes Shirley Horseman, AI Freeman, Jr. 2-personality allegory. This is loosely based on LeRoi Jones's play, of disagreement between sadistic off-white trollop Horseman and ignorant black Freeman in a subway automobile. Uneasy and well performed, although contrived. T. D-Battle SEE: Dragon Battles (55 minutes, 1966)

Good Morning Vietnam: Williams is the entire show here, playing an Army disc jockey that turns Military stereo inside out while he's carried to Saigon in 1965. His maniacal monologues are so uproarious that they tote the remainder of the film, which has a weakly created "tale" and often is immature. Evidently the genuine-life Adrian Cronauer, on whom tale was based, wasn't almost as ludicrous or shocking as Williams. Cast includes Robin Williams, Woodland Whitaker, Tung Thanh Tran, and Floyd Vivino. (120 minutes, 1987)

The Negotiator: Expert negotiator Danny Roman has been set up. He is being framed for killing his partner in the department. Feeling he has no other choice, he takes some very specific hostages, and requests a very specific negotiator. The clock is ticking and Danny must act fast in order to prove his innocence.

Sudden Fear: Prosperous playwright Crawford finds new spouse Palance a performer whom she once fired is preparing to slaughter her; she uses her inscribing abilities to formulate a plan to make him trip himself up. Cast includes Joan Crawford, Jack Palance, Gloria Graharne, Bruce Bennett, Feel Mike Connms, and Virginia Huston. (110 minutes, 1952)

Payback: Porter and Val, two thieves pull of a nice job. Val double-crosses Porter by taking his money, and his girl. Then he then shoots him, and leaves him for dead. Porter isn't dead, and now it's time for payback.

Night Must Fade: Cerebral try to match ability of primordial, this redo is too apparent and theatrical for some credibility. Cast includes Albert Finney, Susan Hampshire, Mona Washbourne, Sheila Hancock, Michael Medwin, Joe Gladwin, and Martin Wyldeck. (105 minutes, 1964)

After Life: This is a beautifully informed story of caseworkers at a train station between the galaxies who help the lately departed pick a lone minute from their pasts to live inside for the remainder of forever. This is a calm, poetic assessment of life, mortality, and memory, filled with soft humor and blessedly free of some feel-excellent bromides. Cast includes Aarata, Erika Oda, Susuma Terajirna, Taketoshi Naito, Kyoko Kagawa, Kei Tani, Takashi Naito, and Yusuke lseya. (118 minutes, 1998)

An Array Of First-Rate Full Length Film Story Lines

By Virgil Jensen

For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. High speed internet access has now made it possible to download movies right off a movie download site. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

Littlest Rebel: One of Shirley's best films, a Civil Battle legend set in the Old South, with our heroine managing to wrap Union officer Holt around her little finger and guards her Confederate officer dad Boles. Church and Robinson do some admirable dancing also. Cast includes David Butler, Shirley Church, John Boles, Jack Holt, Karen Morley Bill Robinson, and Guinn "Large Boy" Williams. (73 minutes, 1935)

Cuba: Entertaining venture film love tale has mercenary Connery reviving an old event with plant supervisor Adams, set contrary to the fall of Batista in late '59. Controller Lester is in pretty excellent form, with most scenes punctua1ed by memorable throw away tads. Cast includes Sean Connery, Brooke Adams, Jack Weston, Hector Elizondo, and Denholm Elliott. (121 minutes, 1979)

House Party Two: Uninspired continuation has Baby Reid heading off to college-if he might just keep on to the money his temple assembly has brought up to send him there. Reid is still appealing, but this splintered film has little to offer, regardless of its communal awareness meteoric and get a learning "message." Cast includes Christopher Reid, Christopher Martin, Eugene Allen, George Anthony Bell, and William Schatner. (94 minutes, 1991)

A Bullet Is Waiting: Fascinating human being nature research hinging on sheriff s uncovering that his captive is seriously blameless; fine desert locale. Cast includes Jean Simmons, Rory Calhoun, Stephen McNally, and Brian Aherne. (82 minutes, 1954)

The Priests Wife: Hardly amusing blend of tirade and humor with Loren as disenchanted singer who imagines she could persuade pastor Mastroianni to acquire discharge from his promise of celibacy and wed her. Weightier addressing of topic might be heard on stereo chat shows; film appears laid out barely as car for 2 megastars. Cast includes Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Venantino Venantini, Jacques Stany, Pippo Starnazza, and Augusto Mastrantoni. (106 minutes, 1971)

The Little Vampire: A 9-year-old California schoolboy moves to Scotland and makes buddies with a 9-year-old vampire who sucks him into his planet and shows him the time of his life. Lipnicki is cute as unconditionally, although Weeks robs the show as his vampire buddy. Cast includes Jonathan Lipnicki, Richard E. Permit, Alice Krige, Anna Popplewell, Jim Carter, John Wood, Pamela Gidley, and Rollo Weeks. (96 minutes, 2000)

Stakeout on Dope Street: Trio of youths find backlog of heroin, trusting their futures can now be straight forward; excellent premise badly finished. Cast includes Yale Wexler, Jonathan Cloud, Morris Miller, Abby Dalton, and Herschel Bernardi. (83 minutes, 1958)

The Juror: Gloomy and, it turns out, psychopathic underworld compute Baldwin victimizes an unsuspecting Moore so that she can teeter associate jurors into acquitting a Mafia manager. Comparisons to Trial By Jury are apt, although this one goes on much longer and gets more absurd by the second. Cast includes Demi Moore, Alec Baldwin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Heche, James Gandolfini, and Lindsay Crouse. (116 minutes, 1996)

Holiday in Mexico: Involving, well cast lyrical comedy of baby girl of ambassador dropping for recognized musician. Cast includes Walter Pidgeon, Ilona Massey, Roddy McDowall, Jose Iturbi, Xavier Cugat, and Jane Powell. (127 minutes, 1946)
