All About Karaoke Music

By Aaron McLain

Karaoke's direct translation is "empty orchestra". It is a word defined as a portmanteau. Which basically means two words blended together to get one meaning. It is a Japanese word which is used to describe entertainment given by amateur singers.

Karaoke is a way for you become a kid again. A way to pretend your something your not. Or may you are. A way for you to sing along to your favorite musicians and see life through their eyes, even if it is for a moment. The setup is simple, but can become extravagant. A recording stripped of lyrics and a microphone will get you jamming. An even better setup includes music video and stage.

Karaoke music comes in all shapes and sizes. At its basics it is a song, like a pop song, that is stripped of its lead vocal. These lead vocals are usually instead displayed on a screen for the singer to read while they sing. To help the singer stay on track their may be a bouncing ball, different color text, or symbol that guides the singer through the lyrics on the screen.

Amateurs are not the only ones that sing Karaoke. Professionals use it all the time. When it doesn't make sense for a big band or orchestra due to reasons like money or space, professional singers will use a Karaoke version of their song. Don't mistake this for lip singing where the lead vocals are recorded. The artist actually sings their song live.

Who has claim to the invention of Karaoke? No one really knows for sure. Once claim is that it originated in Japan in 1971. Inventor, Daisuke Inoue, was said to have created the very first karaoke style machine. Later in the 1980s karaoke caught fire and spread to other parts of Asia before spreading to other parts of the world.

Karaoke is everywhere. In Japan it is used to entertain dinner guests. In Korea you can rent out a karaoke room for you and your friends. This room is decked out with all the latest karaoke gizmos. Big screen TV, high tech karaoke machine, state of the art sound system, all rapped in a sound proof room.

Today singing karaoke has become easier than ever. It's no longer just a music box with microphone. Now karaoke has advance in technology. Karaoke singers can adjust the song to their vocal range. They can change the tempo of the song to make singing more enjoyable. - 18424

By Larry Moon

Gaming console wars have been going on for quite a long time, weather it was Texas Instruments Vs Atari, Nintendo Vs Sega, and Xbox Vs Playstation 2. However a new breed of consoles have started when Microsoft came out with the Xbox 360 taking the next step forward in gaming. This console was said to be a step above anything anyone had seen with the Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, or even the regular Xbox.

This was when people were spending hours standing in a long line in hopes to get themselves or their kids one for Christmas. Once the Playstation 3 and Wii surfaced, it became a difficult task for gamers to figure out which one they should buy. While all of them have strengths and weaknesses, here's how the Xbox 360 compares to the other two consoles.

Comparing the Xbox 360 with Nintendo's Wii console is like comparing apples and oranges. The Xbox 360 controller allows it to be a bit easier to play most games like first person shooters, sports game, or other top Xbox 360 exclusive games. The Wii's primary selling point to their system is the motion controller's and while its a good piece of technology, it makes some of the first person shooter games and sports games a bit hard to play.

Probably one of the biggest differences is the high rated titles available on the Xbox 360. Most of these are geared towards the 20s to 30s crowd, while the Wii keeps their games set for the entire family. Seriously, how many moms and grandparents do you know who are going to enjoy Gears of War 1 and 2? Regardless, the Xbox 360 wins the battle in the quality of game's department.

If you really want the best comparison you have to look at the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 continues to impress with its array of visuals that are comparable to PC games that have higher standard video cards, even though the PS3 takes the category because of Blu-Ray support. When looking at the consoles as a whole it is very easy to conclude that the consoles are both highly graphical and look alike to the general eye.

However, if you're looking for more exclusive franchises, then the PS3 takes the cake. Then again, if you're looking for more exclusive titles you'll want to get a Xbox 360. While we're unsure of a true winner in this area, we will tell you that the Xbox 360 holds more titles and more positive ratings. So we might want to give them a slight edge over their competition.

In the end you won't find a concrete answer regarding this debate. While all 3 consoles are unique in their own way, they all give you a great way to enjoy video games. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 continue to battle, the final decision will come from you. The wars aren't going anywhere, but the Xbox 360 is a powerful system that offers all kinds of benefits and features to the gaming. Maybe you want to take it for a spin. - 18424
