I'm sure most have had those fantasies of being a rock star and being on stage in front of an adoring and ecstatic crowd. That is hardly the reality for most. Many touring musicians hit the road in less than ideal circumstances.

You dream of first-class hotels and swarms of adoring hands hounding you on your way to boarding a private jet. What you will usually find is 4 smelly guys fighting over the last ham sandwich, which is probably old and stale anyway. Instead of fine dining it's slim pickings at whatever crummy convenience mart you stop at gas for.

About two days in you are completely exhausted. Traveling from town to town and never having a comfortable bed to sleep in will do that to a person. You are busy and working hard even when you aren't playing.
