Learn to Sing and Sound Great

By Pete Semensky

I once heard someone say that being able to sing is a gift you are either born with or you are not. This implied that anyone who doesn't spring out of the womb singing like Mariah Carey should just give up. What nonsense! Anyone can learn to sing if they know where to find the correct training specific to their voice.

But training is expensive right? Finding the money to pay for a professional singing coach is difficult for most aspiring singers who usually dont have much money. Hiring a singing coach can cost you many hundreds of dollars over the duration of your training.

It may be a cliche and you may find some who arent this way, but many vocal coaches are very set in their ways about the correct techniques for learning how to sing which can make your lessons very tedious and takes all the fun out of singing.

I know many students who almost turned away from singing after being taught how to sing at the hands of one of these types of teachers. Thankfully they didnt give up all together and simply needed to find the right way to learn how to sing. The fun way.

Many people who want to learn how to sing often read a few books on the subject but find these too dry or maybe purchase a DVD. Thats great but the DVD usually only lasts about an hour or so and you are left with a feeling of 'what now?'

You may have already purchased some learning materials on how to sing and thought for a while that it was helping you. But let me ask you this, if you purchased that material more than six months ago then where is it now? Chances are it is gathering dust somewhere and your vocal abilities are back to square one.

Everyone has a natural voice and timbre that identifies them as unique. The best vocal training tries to bring that out of you, not strip it away so you sound like everyone else. Make the most of your individuality and learn to express yourself when you sing, only better.

But all is not lost. You can learn how to bring out the best in you without forcing your unique square voice into a round hole. There is a great singer in you waiting to get out and with the right tuition you can learn how to sing like a pro. - 18424
