The Beverly Hillbillies - This is a movie based on the 1960's TV series. When Jed Clampett fortuitously discovers oil on his farm land in Arkansas, he becomes an instant millionaire. He brings the entire Clampett kinfolk out to Beverly Hills. Being unpretentious country folk they are prey to every money hungry con artist in the big city.

Straight Time - Hoffman knocks heads with sleazy parole officer Walsh following his discharge from prison and begins a downhill skid. An immersing if not particularly differentiated melodrama that gets a authentic shot in the arm from fantastic acting by the supporting cast. Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Theresa Russell, Harry Dean Stanton, Gary Busey, Emmet Walsh, and Rita Taggart. 114 minutes, 1978.

Strange Interlude - A Eugene O'Neill play that shows the tangled web of the differentiation between our thoughts and our words. Norma Shearer plays a woman who lost the love of her life when he was shot down in WWI. The movie speaks of romances and marriages between Nina and three men, only one of whom she loves. It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a preoccupying motion picture, with Shearer at her talented best. The cast list includes Norma Shearer, Clark Gable, Might Robson, Maureen O'Sullivan, Robert Youthful, Ralph Morgan, Henry B. Walthall, and Alexander Kirkland. 110 minutes, 1932.

Colleague X - Structure with American Gable heating up arctic Russian Lamarr a streetcar conductor. Feigned romance tale by no means convinces; Bressart has remarkable closing line, Cast includes Clark, Gable, Hedy Lamarr, Felix Bressart, Oscar Homolka, Eve Arden, and Sig Ruman. 90 minutes, 1940.

Frequency - John Sullivan lost his dad thirty years before. He is still affected by the loss. Somehow with the use of his father's old ham radio, he can correspond with his father, when his dad was still living. He tells his father of the fire that would kill him. This saves his father but sets off new events that now must be resolved, or John's mom will now die.

Belles on Their Toes - Here, Myrna Loy plays a widowed architect who will crusade to rear her aging brood. 20th Century Fox back lot seen at its best in recollecting early 1900s America. Clifton Webb makes a short appearance at the finish. Cast includes Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Debra Paget, Jeffrey Hunter, Edward Arnold, Hoagy Carmichael, Barbara Bates, Robert Arthur, Verna Felton, and Martin Milner. 89 minutes, 1952.

Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout motion picture. He plays a Chicago Cop who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to cause disorder on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. 1988 Action. - 18424
