Never before has it been so terrific to be a motion picture buff. Back in the day the only way that you could even see a motion picture was to visit the movie theater. Later on, videos came out and you could get a videotape at the store but the movie that you wanted may have been out-of-stock and you still had to wait. You also needed to make sure that you avoided any late fees by making sure that you got the movie back to the store on time. Now you can get the films by mail, but it is still a waiting game.
Rampage - Expectant Long Island housewife, not able to contend with married life escapes her spouse and picks up a simple minded football player on the street. Cast includes Michael Biehn, AIex McArthur, Robert Duvall, Marya Zimmet, Tom Aldredge, and Laurie Crewes. (97 minutes,'92)
Cuba Crossing - Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes involved in a plot to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and at minimum the landscape is pretty. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes,'80)
The In Laws - Everyone can relate to this unpleasant situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to survive. Do not try this at home! Unrated version runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes,'64)
Mysterious Lady - An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, naive that she is a Russian agent. Another unnatural plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly. (96 minutes,'28)
Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout movie. He plays a Chicago Policeman who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to inflict destruction on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. (1988 Action)
Basic - While things go awry throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to query the surviving members of the squad, whose tales don't add up. Actually a whodunit, this movie keeps us guessing, as a good intrigue should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Daly, Roselyn Sanchez, and Harry Connick. (2003 minutes,'95)
Before you start downloading movies look at a couple of the available sites. If you want to be able to burn the film onto a Compact disk so you can observe it on your TV, make sure that you can do that.
