Playwright Turturro is in love with the corporation's megastar/supervisor, and longs to have her act his latest play. Cast includes Jolm Turturro, Katherine Borowitz, Susan Sarandon, Christopher Walken, Rufus Sewell, Beverly D'Angelo, and Donal McCann. (111 minutes, 1999)
Thunderheart: There have been a number of killings on the Sioux Indian Reservation. The FBI goes in to deal with the situation. One agent, Ray Levoi, has Sioux blood. As he investigates the case he soon realizes there is much more going on than some random killings.
Black Mask: Biologically machinated warrior Li gives up a peaceful life to battle his comparably improved former colleagues, who are trying to take over the Hong Kong rackets. Clever, fashionable, lightning paced thriller is a superlative showcase for the illuminating abilities of Li who, in his camouflage, looks like the Green Hornet's Kato. Adam's Apples: This movie is a bizarre dark comedy about two very different men who have a battle of wills. It is a newly developed religious zealot versus a hard core neo-Nazi criminal. The battle of good versus evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)
Catch Me If You Can: This movie tells the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr., who was a master con man. By the time he was 21 years old, he had been a doctor, a co-pilot for a major airline, and a lawyer. Check fraud is where he excelled the most, and he had swindled companies out of millions with this skill. F.B.I. agent Carl Hanratty becomes obsessed with finding and capturing Frank.
It Takes 2: Surprisingly well designed comedy for children in reference to look-alikes who trade places in request to help each other. The fabulously prosperous gal has a dad who's getting ready to wed a patently terrible lady, when the orphan is getting ready to lose her best buddy, the communal employee who watches the orphanage. The doubles give extremely likable performances, as do their adult costars. Cast includes Kirstie Alley, Steve Guttenberg, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Philip Bosco, Desmond Roberts, Ernie Grunwald, and Lawrence Dane. (101 minutes, 1995)
Eddie: Basketball nut Edwina 'Eddie' Franklin is a diehard New York Knick fan. She knows everything about the team; players, coaches, statistics, and how they play. In last place, the Knick seem to be a hopeless team. One night at a game Eddie is picked from the crowd to shoot a free throw. If she makes it she can coach the team for one game. She makes the shot, and is living a dream come true. What happens next is even more incredible. The owner offers her the job for the rest of the season.
