Sphinx: Harried Egyptologist Lesley-Anne Down constantly avoids death as she looks for a mysterious tomb. Not much to be desired here. Cast includes Lesley-Anne Down, Blunt Langella, Maurice Ronet, John Gielgud, and Martin Benson. (117 minutes, 1981)
From Russia With Love: Second James Bond film is one of the best; lots of anticipation and action, and one of the lengthiest, most arousing quarrel scenes ever orchestrated. Lenya makes an extremely wicked snoop. Cast includes Sean Connery, Daniela Bianchi, Latte Lenya, Robert Shaw, Bernard Lee, and Lois Maxwell. (118 minutes, 1963)
Gran Torino: Walt Kowalski is a tough minded Korean War Vet who doesn't get along with anyone. When Tao, his neighbor tries to steal his prize possession, his 1973 Gran Torino, he sets out the reform his young neighbor. When other gangs in the area threaten Tao and his family, Walt takes action to protect his newfound friends.
Jackie Chan's First Strike: Hong Kong's most visibly agile cop finds himself in a James Bond like captivate engaging the CIA, Russian mafia, an atomic weapon, and obviously, an excellent-looking girl scuba diver. The dubbing here is normally e, yet in a lark like this it seriously doesn't matter; the last 2 thirds is nearly fence-ta-fence action, containing an incredible donnybrook in which Chan makes memorable use of an elevator. Cast includes Jackie Chan. Chen Chun Wu, Jackson Lou, and Bill Tung. (110 minutes, 1996)
Barry McKenzie Holds His Own: Idiotic follow-up to THE Ventures OF BARRY MCKRNZIE, in reference to oafish title personality, his double sibling both played by Crocker, and one Edna Everage Humphries, in drag, who is abducted and taken to Transvlvania. Cast includes Barry Crocker, Barry Humphries, Donald Pleasence, Dick Bentley, and Louis Negin. (93 minutes, 1974)
Murders in the Rue Morgue: Expressionistic terror film based on Poe tale, with Lugosi as fiendish Dr. Miracle, with eyes on pleasant Fox as the newlywed of his pet monkey in 1845 Paris. John Huston was one of the authors. It was remade as Phantom of the Rue Morgue, and two times more once for Television in 1986 under primordial title. Cast includes Bela Lugosi, Sidney Fox, Leon Waycoff Ames, Bert Roach, Noble Johnson, Brandon Hurst, and Arlene Francis. (62 minutes, 1948)
The Hulk: Bruce Banner was exposed to an incredibly high dose of gamma rays. While he thinks he has recovered fully, he suffers blackouts, and emotional outburst. Meanwhile, a green monster called the Hulk has been scene on occasion causing considerable damage wherever he appears. Is it possible that Bruce and the Hulk are one and the same?
