The Little Theatre of Jean Renoir: Quartet of little stories in reference to human respectability and beneficence of country living (instead of subsisting in a dehumanized city forest). Renoir's celluloid swan melody might not be amid his best, however still has much to offer. Cast includes Jeanne Moreau, Femand Sardou, Francoise Arnoul, Jean Carmet, Marguerite Cassan, and Dominique Labourier. (100 minutes, 1971)

A Scandal in Paris: Fashionable 8th century tale based on the recollections of the infamous Frenchman Eugene Vidocq, whose life of crime comes to a crossroads while he confronts a youthful lady who cherishes him. The clever script was tailor-made for Sanders. Cast includes George Sanders, Carole Landis, Akim Tarniroff, Signe Hasso, Gene Lockhart, Alan Napier, and Alma Kruger. (106 minutes, 1946)

Belle Starr: Advanced Tierney miscast as infamous lady outlaw in gradually paced account of her lawbreaker occupation. Cast includes Randolph Scott, Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews, John Sheppard (Shepperd Strudwick), and Elizabeth Patterson. (87 minutes, 1941)

May entertain adolescent watchers, although only point of interest for grownups is choosing who gives the worse acting job, Nielsen or villainess Bergman. Cast includes Brigitte Nielsen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Paul Smith, Emie Reyes, Jr., Ronald Lacey, and Pat Roach. (89 minutes, 1985)

Red: Very last film in Kieslowski's "3 Colors" trilogy which, like Blue and White, might stand alone with its self contained tale. Fashion model Jacob meets upset, retired magistrate Trintignant accidentally, then creates a relationship with him and enters his cloistered, secret life. Set in Geneva, this is a story of few entangled lives. Cast includes Irene Jacob, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Frederique Feder, Jean-Pierre Lorit, Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy, and Benoit Regent.
