Taylor Swift's History

By Cindy Lou Jackson

Taylor Swift was born Taylor Allison Swift in Pennsylvania in a town called Wyomissing. Her birthday is December 13, 1989 and she is 19 years old. Taylor was introduced to music by her grandma who was actually an opera singer and she was also a big fan of many country artists. She has always loved country music.

Taylor was smart and mature for her age and her parents were extremely supportive of whatever she wanted to do. They made many trips to Nashville to help her attain her dreams of a country music career and made many sacrifices to support her.

Taylor was singing in public at the tender age of only 10 years old and writing material and songs at only 12. It is unusual for a child to show such focus and determination at such a young age and her parents were just as determined to help her along.

Taylor's family moved with her to a place name Hendersonville, a suburb of Nashville when she was 14. She had just been given a publishing job, and at age 14 she was the youngest person ever to accomplish this.

Taylor got her big break when she came to the attention of Scott Borchetta, who signed her to his label Big Machine Records. She released her debut album in November in the year 2006 to rave reviews. It would go on to sell over 2 million copies and ensuring her sophomore album's production.

Of Taylor Swift's many accomplishments, perhaps the most astonishing is her record for being the only female solo artist to write or co-write every song on her debut album. Especially astonishing is the fact that she was able to do this when she was only 16 years old.

Taylor was always expressed an enthusiasm for touring and her glowing reviews in city after city back her up. She has opened for Brad Paisley and is currently hitting the road with Rascal Flatts. She is also headlining several dates this year all on her own.

Taylor's level-headedness and kindness to her fans sets her apart in the young Hollywood crowd. If she retains that remarkable connection with her fans she will continue to break barriers and take her career to exciting places. - 18424
