Audio Turntables, Enjoy the rich sound of vinyl
Most people younger than 30 have never seen turntables in real life, but perhaps in movies. Some younger ones may not have even seen them appear in a movie. Well, a turntable is something that plays records and vinyl LPs.
The turntable works by using the needle to play through the groove that is on records. The needle is dragged around the record, right through the groove. It is started on the outside, and as it plays, it continues to work it's way in. The needle on the turntable makes a special electrical current. This pushes the noise on into the speakers so that you can hear it.
Of course we have a lot of technology today when it comes to audio, but much of this technology was pioneered in the turntables of long ago. Several years ago when the CD players were first brought out, you'll find that turntables became a thing of the past.
During the 80's new music was put out on CDs, which outdid the vinyl LPs that were out there, and soon the record labels were all switching to CDs instead. This allowed people to find tracks they wanted to easier and they were cheaper to make, had better sound, and were much smaller as well.
Today there still is some appreciation out there for turntables. Analog reproduction is used for records, and it provides sounds that are warmer and sound live. Much of the music out there that was put on records actually never was put into digital formats.
Many of the people that even have turntables today have a nostalgic streak in them. They love hearing the old musical selections and love this form of music. It's just that this music is not available on the CDs out there.
A variety of turntables out there now actually have new enhancements. Digital processors are included on some in the form of chips. This lets you have a very great sound and makes the needles you use quite sensitive.
However, there are other turntables that are just like the old ones. Of course if you really want to experience records as they sounded back in the 60s and 70s, then you'll want to go with a turntable that is built like one from those years without all the new technology that we have today.
Some of the turntables out there, such as those from the late 80s periods not only play records, but they play cassettes and even CDs. There are even some that will take the LP file and copy it into an mp3. With these conversion files, you are able to play the music on your iPod, still getting the benefits of the vinyl and getting the rich sound that comes form the vinyl records.
There really is nothing quite like listening to songs on turntables, enjoying those lovely sounds that they make. You can still find turntables that come in retro designs. They'll allow you to get the sound that you really want, just like the sounds from years ago. - 18424
